1. Parco Naturale Sciliar

2. Seiser Alm Half Marathon


Every July, the Seiser Alm Half Marathon invites runners to experience a unique challenge amidst stunning landscapes. The 21-kilometer race, starting and finishing in Compaccio, includes an elevation gain of 601 meters and is limited to 700 participants. This event offers a mix of asphalt, gravel, and forest roads, surrounded by the majestic Dolomites.

Places to Eat


While exploring the scenic Alpe di Siusi, you'll encounter several alpine pasture huts, perfect for a lunch break or a snack. These huts, open from late May/early June to late October and early December to early April, serve delicious regional dishes. However, check their opening times before your visit as some may be closed on certain days.


1. Schgaguler Schwaige


Located close to the Ortisei-Alpe di Siusi gondola mountain station, Schgaguler Schwaige (1905 m) is a delightful alpine pasture hut you’ll reach by descending along trail 9 towards Saltria (10 minutes).


It’s the first hut you’ll encounter on the Alpe di Siusi Meadows Circuit Trail. Expect delicious South Tyrolean food and a friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal stop for a satisfying lunch or snack.

2. Gostner Schwaige


Gostner Schwaige (1900 m), known for its own alpine dairy products and commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients, offers a unique culinary experience. Notably, you should try their Heublütensuppe, a soup made of hay, flowers, and 15 different herbs, served in a bread bowl.

3. Malga Sanon


It's a perfect place for a lunch break while exploring the area. The hut is accessible via a 35-minute walk from the Ortisei-Alpe di Siusi gondola mountain station (Trail 6B) and is also a stop along the Alpe di Siusi Meadows Circuit Trail.
