Beneath the Detian Waterfall, a deep, clear pool stretches over 200 meters wide and 30 meters deep. This aquatic haven is teeming with fish, which local villagers catch using traditional methods while singing folk songs that echo through the surrounding hills. It’s a scene of carefree joy and natural beauty, where the past and present collide harmoniously.
Beyond the waterfall, the Heishui River (Black Water River) offers a picturesque landscape with its verdant banks and gentle current. The river is dotted with water wheels, traditional Zhuang minority homes, and terraced farmland, making it an ideal spot for boat rides.

Then there’s Qiaomiao Lake, a mirror-like body of water surrounded by green hills. It’s the perfect place to take a leisurely boat ride, listen to folk songs, and marvel at the clear, moonlit reflections on the lake’s surface.
For a unique cultural experience, visit the Guichun River, where you can witness the contrasting architectural styles on each bank – one with traditional Zhuang buildings in China, and the other showcasing Vietnam’s outlook. The Shatun Waterfall, another highlight, consists of seven terraces that cascade down more gently compared to the grand Detian Waterfall, offering a softer, more serene side of nature.
