There are two types of coconut available in the market, the round coconut in its shell and the green coconut.

The green coconut is the more tender coconut and has more water and tastes better.

So how do we choose when we buy them?

We should look at the exterior of the coconut to see if there is anything that is not fresh.

We can pick up the coconut green and shake it gently.

If we don't hear any ringing when we shake it, it means that the coconut green is relatively fresh.

The fresher it is, the clearer the coconut juice will be.

The thickness of the skin of the coconut green is similar, so the heavier the weight, the more coconut juice.

Generally speaking, fresh coconut water tastes fresh and refreshing, if the coconut water tastes sour and bitter, and the coconut water is very cloudy and the flesh is yellow.

It means that the coconut water has deteriorated and should not be consumed, and continued consumption will be harmful to our health.

If you smell coconut water and find that it has a distinctly sour or musty smell or a rotten smell, it means that the coconut water has gone bad and has deteriorated.

So you should not continue to drink it, and if you drink it again, it will have an adverse effect on your health.

You can observe the texture of coconut water, is also an important way to distinguish it from bad.

People can take out the coconut water directly in a clean glass, the quality of the leaves has not deteriorated, the water is clear and transparent, and will not appear a lot of sediment.

But those who have deteriorated and bad coconut water and then put into the glass will appear obvious sediment, and it is darker sometimes accompanied by a sense of turbidity The colour is darker and sometimes cloudy.

Many people throw away coconut water after drinking it, but in fact the flesh of the coconut can also be eaten.

When you have finished drinking the coconut water, leave the empty coconut and prepare to cut open the shell with a knife, using the knife to cut off the soft shell on the top where you insert the straw to drink the coconut water.

Then aim the bottom tip of the knife at the opening and bang it down hard until the hardest shell inside breaks.

Once you have opened the section you can clearly see the flesh inside the shell, and then you can start to separate the shell from the flesh as you see fit.

The best way is to use a small fruit knife to split the flesh into several parts and then pry it out, preferably without rinsing it with water, otherwise the coconut flavour will be washed away!
